The upper\u2014the fabric top of the shoe\u2014is made from 70% Adidas\u2019s recycled Primegreen polyester and 30% natural Tencel, a material made from wood pulp that Allbirds uses in its Tree line. The midsole\u2014the bouncy foam at the bottom of the shoe\u2014is a combination of Adidas\u2019s Lightstrike polyurethane foam and Allbirds\u2019 sugarcane-based SweetFoam.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The materials are undyed, which further saves on emissions. And yet, \u201cit\u2019s not just a burlap-strap brown,\u201d as Jad Finck, head of sustainability at Allbirds, puts it. No, the shoes appear to be a true white that looks completely typical for a modern sneaker.
